A 31-year-old female trader, Linda Ogbolodi, who allegedly hacked a man’s phone and stole N2. 5 million from his bank account, on Friday appeared  before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.

Ogbolodi, a resident of No. 57, Nosamu St., Ajegunle, Lagos State, is facing charges of conspiracy and Stealing.

She, however, pleaded not guilty  of the offences.

According to the Prosecutor, ASP Ezekiel Ayorinde, the defendant stole the phone of Mr Adelola Emmanuel and  transferred the sum to her bank account  through the phone.

According to Ayorinde, Emmanuel is a staff of Adron Homes and Properties Ltd. and the money belongs to the company.

He told the court that the defendant committed the offences with others still at large, on Aug. 5, in Lagos State.

“The defendant was later arrested but the stolen money and the phone were not recovered,’’ he said.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O. Osunsanmi, admitted the defendant to N500, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

She ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and have evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

The alleged offences violate Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 (revised).

The magistrate adjourned the case until Jan. 8, for substantive hearing.
