Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has thanked President Olusegun Obasanjo for the warm reception he gave him on Wednesday at his Abeokuta residence, but an unforgiving critic of the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Chief Bode George has told him to bury the thought of ever getting the endorsement of the former president.

Noting the warm reception he received in Abeokuta starting from the visit with Obasanjo, Tinubu on returning to his Lagos base tweeted a message of thanks to his hosts.

He said:

GWG reports that the meeting between Tinubu and Obasanjo, however, did not leave Chief George astounded as he said that nothing would come out of it.

Speaking on the prospects of the meeting between Tinubu and Obasanjo in a Channels Television interview monitored by GWG, Bode George said:

“President Obasanjo remains an enigma, he is an icon. I can confidently tell you that where issues matter, on the nation that he would not bend and (he) makes sure that he tells the truth to power.

“I don’t know what Bola is looking for or what he is intention is, but I can tell you that he (Obasanjo) will be ready and willing to tell him his views on national issues.

“Fortunately, Bola belongs to the ruling party and you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to look at the state of the country which is being managed by the members of his own party, APC.”

Chief George who is the leader of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Lagos lamented that no sector of the country has received any sort of lift under the APC government.

He particularly expressed anguish on the continuing strike by university teachers saying that it is another example of the wrong testimonial of the APC in government.
