Oshiomhole Absent As Ize-Iyamu Makes Subdued Entry Into APC

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole kept away from Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s reception into the All Progressives Congress, APC on a charged Friday in Benin as political forces in Edo State positioned themselves for a war of mutual destruction.

Oshiomhole’s decision not to attend the reception for Ize-Iyamu whom he had only four years ago washed down with unprintable adjectives, was according to associates not to be seen as breaking the directive by the police against the rally.

The national chairman of the party had arrived for the rally on Thursday prior to the cancellation of the rally by the police high command.

However, Ize-Iyamu was welcomed into the party by the factional chairman of the party in the state, Col David Imuse rtd. at a welcome reception in his residence.

He handed over a broom to Ize-Iyamu adding that Ize-Iyamu’s entry into the party alongside his structure from the 18 Local Government Areas of the state was worthy to be celebrated.

“We are here to celebrate the homecoming of our brothers and sisters from the PDP who have come to add value to our party; not only to add value, they are coming to make our party grow from strength to strength so that we can win at all levels,” Imuse said.

Ize-Iyamu in his remarks debunked claims that he was joining the party from the state level as he disclosed that he had already joined the party at his ward level in Ugboko Ward in Orhionmwon Local Government Area.

“For those who are in doubt, the moment I made up my mind to join the APC, I went to my ward and I am proud to say I have registered in Ugboko ward in Orhionmwon local government area,” he said as he displayed his membership card.
