Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Tuesday met with PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in Abuja and with it played down  recent reports of discord between the two men.
GWG.NG reports that recent news reports had alleged a crisis between the governor who is the vice-chairman of the Northeast flank of the PDP presidential campaign and Atiku over what was claimed as the marginalization of the governor by the candidate.

The reports were exacerbated by a leaked letter in which the governor was reported to have complained of a conspiracy between Atiku and the governor’s local enemies in Bauchi.

Governor Mohammed according to the news reports had threatened to step down from his campaign activities at the presidential campaign level and to focus on his re-election.

According to the reports, Atiku was alleged to have been peeved with him for refusing to stepdown during the PDP primaries and that the candidate had carried it to the extent of having not visited only him among the PDP presidential aspirants.

However, GWG.NG reports that against the assertions of discord Governor Mohammed flew into Abuja on Tuesday and went straight to a meeting where both men engaged one another and apparently resolved the issues.

“Governor Bala Mohammed was with Waziri and I can assure you he is also going to be part of a top level management strategy meeting of the Atiku Campaign that is taking place this night,” a source privy to the development told GWG.NG.
