Manchester United Sack Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has been sacked by Manchester United following the confirmation of the immediate termination of his contract with the club, the Red Devils announced on Tuesday.

Ronaldo who is presently encamped with Portugal on duty at the World Cup according to a statement by Manchester United is to leave the club “with immediate effect”.

United is also not expected to pay damages for the early termination of the contract on the claim that Cristiano Ronaldo is adjudged by the club to have materially violated the terms of his contract through his recent interview with Piers Morgan.

A terse statement by the club read in part:

“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford,” it read.

GWG.NG reports that the contract was brought to an end seven months early and the 37 year old who is now to intensify his search for a club after the World Cup.

According to reports, Manchester United will not pay Cristiano Ronaldo the £16 million Ronaldo would have earned by June 2023 because of the claim of contract violation on his part.

United believe Ronaldo violated his terms of employment with his criticism of the club’s US owners, manager Erik ten Hag, the club’s facilities, his teammates and former Red Devils players, including Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville.
