PDP Crisis: Controversy Dogs Atiku’s Birthday Greeting To Wike

Controversy was brewing on Tuesday after PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar sent a public birthday message to Governor Nyesom Wike on the occasion of his 55th birthday on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
The controversy over the public birthday greeting came in the wake of the persisting crisis in the PDP which has pitched Wike and his allies in the PDP against Atiku and the mainstream of the party.
While some saw the birthday greeting to Wike as a sign of the maturity from Atiku, there were some who saw the greeting as wholly political as some used the opportunity to attack the PDP presidential candidate over his weaknesses including his awkward reaction to the murder in Sokoto State by Deborah Samuel last May.
GWG.ng reports that the group of five governors and PDP leaders led by Wike have taken a position not to support Atiku on his presidential bid unless Senator Iyrocha Ayu is replaced as national chairman.
Chief Bode George, one of the prominent leaders in the Wike camp had been quoted this week as saying that he would not vote for Atiku.
However, putting aside the political animosities Atiku had in a message said:
The birthday wish to Wike was lapped by supporters of Atiku as an indication of the maturity of the PDP candidate.

Nyesome Wike is a son to Atiku Abubakar, 76-55=21. Atiku is father, as a father you don’t join issues with your children. You correct, counsel, discipline and always engage your children. A father cannot be bitter to his children, but the children can be bitter to their father.
However, there were several others who saw the birthday wish to Wike as a political decoy from the PDP presidential candidate.
