Breaking: CBN Extends Deadline For Exchange Of Old Naira Notes

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extended the deadline for the exchange of old Naira notes by 10 days, Governor Godwin Emefiele announced on Sunday.

Emefiele in a statement issued on Sunday said the extension followed a permission given by President Muhammadu Buhari to that effect.

According to the CBN governor the apex bank has so far collected N1.9 trillion and is left with N900 billion to achieve its goal.

The new deadline for the exchange of the new currency he said would be February 10, 2023.
