Nigeria Jaga Jaga Crooner Feels Justified Against Obasanjo
By Ayodele Oluwafemi
Nigerian Hip hop singer, Eedris Abdulkareem says he feels vindicated by the song (Jaga Jaga) which pictured the state of the country and rained him curses from President Olusegun Obasanjo 18 years ago.
‘Jaga Jaga’ depicts a state of complete disorder, confusion and recklessness.
Eedris, a guest on Channels TV’s Rubbing Minds on Sunday noted that after 18 years he released the song (Jaga Jaga) that the situation in the country has not improved.
According to him those who criticized him for the song would now see the intention behind the song. One of those who harshly criticized him harshly was the president at that time, Dr. Obasanjo.
He said: “In 2002 I dropped Nigeria Jaga Jaga, and the ex-president came on national TV and said that boy wey sing that song, na him papa and him family jaga jaga.
“I was very happy that my message got to the president. I was very happy that the president talked back at me because that means they were listening and today I’ve been vindicated again because Nigeria is still jaga jaga”.
