Foster Father Rapes 9-Year Old Girl In His Care

A foster father, Bernard Uzi, has been charged by the Lagos State Government with the rape of a 9-year-old girl under his care. According to a statement released by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) on February 14, 2023, Mr. Uzi was detained by police on February 8 and appeared in court the following day, February 9.

Joke Ladenegan-Ogini, a DSVA representative, said the youngster had previously told her teacher that her father had been having illicit relations with her.

The foster father of the nine-year-old girl, Uzi, allegedly raped her, according to a report received by the agency. The Primary Five student further told her teacher that she had been having sex with her guardian since 2020.

The victim was transferred to a medical institution for treatment after the instructor immediately reported the incident to the school administration, according to the speaker. According to Mrs. Ladenegan-findings Ogini’s from the medical examination, the victim had in fact been penetrated more than once.

She emphasized that the organization will support survivors and make sure that those who had abused children or were sexually assaulted were held accountable for their acts.
