The N100,000 monthly minimum wage proposed by the Labour Party governorship candidate in Delta State is feasible, the party’s chairman in the state, Mr Tony Ezeagwu has said.

Speaking in an interview he said that with prudent spending and the removal of wastages that Pela as governor of Delta State would be able to pay out N100,000 as minimum wage to workers.

The party chairman also used the opportunity to deny claims of an alliance between the party and any other party for the governorship poll. He reiterated that the party was going into the election on its own.

Mr Ezeagwu who spoke in an interview on Arise News Television said:

“You must know that Delta State is one of the richest states in the country and we have the resources to carry that. If not for wastage on the part of those in government now. You know that it is feasible,” he said in defending the proposal by the party’s candidate.

“N100,000 is nothing compared to the frivolous things that they spend in Delta State. I am sure that we will be able with the internally generated revenue. With prudent spending we will be able to pay N100,000 per worker,” the Labour Party chairman said in defending the plan for a N100,000 minimum wage in Delta State.

Insisting that the party swept the polls everywhere on February 25 and will repeat the feat in the governorship poll, he said:

“The Obidient people in Delta State insisted that the elections must not be rigged except in Ika North East where the governor hails from where he held everybody hostge to make sure that he wins his LGA which I know that he did not win. I am assuring you that we will win. The Obidient people are ready to checkmate.”
