By Ayodele Oluwafemi
Suspected armed robbers have shot dead a National Youth Service Corps member in Osun State, identified as Adebayo Mukaila.
The deceased, Mukaila, owned a mini-supermarket at Omo West Street close to the NYSC Secretariat in Osogbo, where he maintained a provision store and engaged in money transfer.
It was learnt that the deceased, popularly called Alfa, was attacked around 11:00pm, on Tuesday, after closing his shop for the day’s business.
Sources close to where the incident happened disclosed that the suspected robbers dispossessed Mukaila of money, PoS machine, and other items in the bag that he was carrying before he was shot in the head.
The robbers were said to have fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Meanwhile, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, has directed an investigation into the murder of Mukaila.
“We sympathise with the family of the deceased. We assure the public that no stone will be left unturned in getting to the root of the incident,” Kokumo said.
