I, Wizkid, Olamide blew before you – Young6ix tells Davido
Young6ix, a Nigerian hip-hop musician located in the United States, has criticized singer Davido for leaving him off his list of the first generation of young people to become successful in the Nigerian music business.
Davido reportedly claimed, that he and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian musicians to achieve popularity.
He expressed his excitement over the “new cats” (stars) that are currently ruling the music business, including Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake.
Reacting via a video message shared on social media, Young6ix said he, Olamide and Wizkid achieved fame before Davido.
He said, “David, David. How many times I called your name?
“You know I got nothing but love for you, my boy. But let’s get it straight. It was Wizkid, Olamide and Young6ix before it was you. We were the youngins of that time.
“You want to skip me from the legacy?”
GWG.ng reports that the assertion from Young6ix follows controversies in Nigeria after Davido was alleged to have put down his contemporaries and notably, Burna Boy as new cats who came into stardom following him.
His claim has been countered by a number of music industry stakeholders.
