Lawyer and social activist, Jesutega Onokpasa has faulted star actress, Ini Edo over her decision to go for an anonymous sperm donor in the birth of her daughter, Light.

GWG.ng reports that the popular actress trended on Father’s Day when she made what many believed to be an innocuous Father’s Day greeting to fathers. Those who thought that the actress who brought forth her baby Light in 2021 through a surrogate mother was taking her position also as a father.

Ini Edo had following the birth of Light claimed that she opted for an anonymous sperm donor to avoid the difficulties that come when a relationship between a father and mother is strained.

However, insisting that every child deserves a father and a mother, Onakpasa, a Warri-based lawyer in a statement made available to GWG.ng said:

I guess I could be described as a feminist, given my diehard gender equality stance.

I’ve actually written a play, “And Thy Mother”, that I am planning to present soon.

That said, I consider this trend of having babies without known or knowable fathers to be simply beyond the pale.

In my experience, children whose mother’s cannot identify their father to them usually end up thoroughly resenting their mothers.

I think the young lady, Ini Edo, has made a very big mistake by opting for an anonymous sperm donor and I hope that by some extraordinary means she should be able to trace the bloke one day for her adorable daughter’s sake.

Ms Edo probably thought it was woke and chic to have a child all to herself but she was actually just being a compound fool, I’m quite sorry to say.

That little angelic child is very likely to grow up to become a very resentful young woman, and, the object of her discontent will be none other than her mother, Ini Edo, herself!

This might sound very harsh but I actually believe this woke nonsense of deliberately having a child who could NEVER have an IDENTIFIABLE father is CHILD ABUSE; is repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience; and, is therefore patently and irretrievably UNLAWFUL.

We are black Africans; we are the oldest race and showcase the most ancient cultures and civilizations on the planet.

We don’t have to copy every crappy insane thing the white man, in his sometimes utter twistedness, comes up with in his quite often empty-headedness.

In African philosophy, every child is yours, and as my birthday mate, Hillary Clinton, titled her book, “It Takes A Village” (to raise a child), we are parents to every child we meet.

Therefore, I wish my little girl, Ms Edo’s daughter, well.

May she one day find her dad but if not, may God bring others to stand for her.

The lawyer’s assertions on Ini Edo are bound to be received with mixed reactions from some critical sections of society.
