APC Group Hails Senate For Screening Stella Okotete Despite …

APC League of Professionals has commended the Senate for screening of Hon Stella Okotete for ministerial appointment in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration despite the multiple allegations raised against her.

In the statement following the Senate screening of Okotete, the national publicity secretary of the group, Mr. Brown Justice said, the Red Chamber has shown that the Senate chamber is not an institution for influence peddlers or narcissistic elements who see nothing good in others.

The group said that the Senate has upheld the belief that the body is a strong pillar of the third arm of government that is ever-ready to defend the interest of the Nigerian people; especially the 35 percent affirmative action for women as espoused by the Beijing Women Conference of 1995 which the nominee has been upholding.

The group also hailed Mr. President for his unyielding support and confidence in the ability of Hon. Stella Okotete to help him deliver the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration to the Nigerian people.

Noting that Hon. Okotete has displayed uncommon capacity as Executive Director in charge of Business Development in the Nigerian Export- Import Bank the group said it believes she would replicate such feat as Minister with larger capacity.

GWG.ng reports that besides allegations of forgery and incompetence made against Okotete, ethnic groups in Delta South had faulted her nomination and Senate screening as a breach of the state character given that she is from the same Ughelli North LGA as the APC governorship candidate and state chairman, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Omeni Sobotie respectively.
