Draw From The Testimony Of The Three Hebrew Young Men, Christians Told
Christians in Nigeria have been urged to draw from the testimony of the three Hebrew young men taken to Babylon in confronting the challenges they face today.
Pastor Godwin Idowu, presiding elder of the Hospital Chapel, National Hospital gave the injunction in his message to the congregation on Sunday.
Drawing his message from Daniel 3, he said that the three Hebrew children were in the age bracket of 13 to 20 but had the boldness to confront the emperor of Babylon mainly because of their faith and knowledge of God.
“They knew the ability and capability of the God they were serving and had developed their faith around Him.
“They said our God is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and even out of your hand. What made them to be bold was their faith in their God,” Mr. Idowu said.
Noting how God appeared on their behalf after they had been thrown into the fiery furnace, Pastor Idowu said that though only the three Hebrew young men were thrown into the fire, but that a fourth person who he said was God came into the fire to show solidarity with them.
“There had been no record of anyone thrown into the fiery furnace who came out alive, but the three Hebrew children were not shaken. They were not moved and believed that even if it had not happened before it will happen with them.
Noting that the Hebrew teenagers were bound when thrown into the fire but that the king saw a fourth person walking around inside the fire with the trio who were loosed of their bounds without the fire scorching them.
Noting that the fourth person in the fire was God, he said that Christians facing challenges and who may think that they have been bound and thrown into a fire can be loosed if they invite Jesus who he said would also do the unexpected in their lives as was done for the three Hebrew children.
