D’banj Celebrates Africa’s Baba Twins’ At Trace Awards (Video)
Nigerian singer, D’banj, stirred emotions at the Trace Awards in Kigali, Rwanda, when he joyously referred to his close friend and fellow artiste, Davido, as “Baba Ibeji” or father of twins.
This heartwarming gesture was a response to the delightful news of Davido recently welcoming twins in the United States.
The touching moment unfolded at the prestigious Trace Awards, an event designed to celebrate the creativity, talent, and influence of African and Afro-inspired music artistes.
Davido’s twins’ arrival in the United States had been a source of immense joy for the singer, who acknowledged the extraordinary circumstances. Sharing his thoughts, Davido revealed the challenges he and his wife faced, saying, “It is very hard. A lot of people that those things happened to would never want to believe in God in your life. But to still have faith and do what I love, having a great team around me; I was just focusing.”
He further expressed the remarkable timing of the twins’ birth, sharing the poignant connection with the loss of his son the previous year.
A few days later, at the Trace Awards, D’banj took the stage alongside co-host Maria Borges, the Angolan global supermodel. The event featured an impressive lineup of performers, including Davido himself, Yemi Alade, Black Sherif, Kizz Daniel, and many more.
D’banj’s heartfelt congratulations to Davido at the Trace Awards added a touching and celebratory note to an evening filled with music, talent, and camaraderie.
