Popular Nigerian Filmmaker Begs For Yul Edochie Amidst Social Media Backlash

Nigerian filmmaker Austin Faani, who is also the husband of actress Chacha Eke, has come to the defense of actor Yul Edochie amidst the ongoing criticism and trolling he has faced on social media. This follows Yul Edochie’s announcement of the birth of another child with his mistress-turned-wife, Judy Austin, a revelation that led to a loss of favor in the eyes of many.

In a Facebook post, Austin Faani empathized with Yul Edochie, emphasizing the need for compassion and understanding. He acknowledged that while Yul’s actions might have been questionable, the relentless torment he’s facing lacks the love that a country claiming to be religious should exhibit.

Despite recognizing the actor’s mishandling of the situation, Faani urged Nigerians to remember Yul Edochie’s humanity. He appealed for a more empathetic approach, considering the impact of the public scrutiny on Yul’s life and the well-being of his family.

Faani highlighted that if Nigerians believe in karma and that Yul will eventually face consequences for his actions, they should allow the process to unfold without subjecting him to continuous torment. He urged for a more considerate perspective, questioning how others would feel if they were in Yul Edochie’s position.

In his closing remarks, Faani anticipated potential backlash but emphasized the need for a compassionate response. He drew a parallel with biblical figures, urging people to act in accordance with their beliefs and to learn from the stories of compassion found in religious teachings.

According to him, the same bullying that was done to Mohbad is the same bullying many of his colleagues and internet trolls have been doing to him, without hearing his side of the story.

It is no longer news that Yul and his first wife, May are heading for divorce following his marriage to his colleague, Judy Austin. May had filed for divorce from Yul and was demanding N100 million from Judy Austin for adultery. She has also been granted full custody of their remaining three kids. May had also filed for a restraining order denying him access to their former matrimonial home, citing safety concerns.
