FULL LIST: Osimhen, Boniface Listed Among Top 100 Best Footballers In The World
Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles and Napoli forward, has secured a spot among the top 100 best footballers globally in 2023, marking another milestone in his remarkable year. This accomplishment comes on the heels of winning the prestigious African Footballer of the Year award. Particularly noteworthy is Osimhen’s impressive 8th position in the 2023 Ballon d’Or, a historic achievement for a Nigerian footballer.
As reported by Four Four Two, Osimhen is positioned at 14th among the world’s best footballers for the past year, reflecting his consistent excellence on the field.
In the same prestigious lineup is Victor Boniface, the 22-year-old Nigerian striker from Bayer Leverkusen. Although not making the top 50, Boniface’s exceptional skills have earned him the title of best Bundesliga rookie of the month an impressive five consecutive times.
Despite Boniface’s stellar performance, players like Kieran Trippier of Newcastle United and Marcus Rashford of Manchester United surpassed him in rankings.
In a surprising turn of events, 38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted 50 goals for Portugal and Al Nassr, did not secure a spot on the list. This omission has ignited discussions about the growing allure of the Saudi league for top players worldwide. Conversely, Ronaldo’s career rival, Lionel Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer, not only secured a place on the list but also ranked as high as the 6th best.
