Uzodinma Gives Ihedioha, Okrocha Contractors 7 Days To Return To Site
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has given a seven-day ultimatum to contractors awarded jobs by his predecessors to return to site of the jobs or return the money supposedly collected by them as mobilisaiton fees for the jobs.
The governor spoke in an address on Monday on the occasion of his first 100 days in office.
Giving his achievements in office, the governor said he had been able to raise the monthly Internally Generated Revenue from N600 million per month to over N1 billion and rehabilitated the Government House and the Governor’s Lodge which he accused his predecessors of abandoning and turning into a haven of rats.
He said that the administration ahead of the arrival of the COVID-19 panedmic in the state had prepared six isolation centres and had conducted over 500 tests out of which one turned positive.
In giving the ultimatum to the contractors who were awarded jobs by his predecessors to return to site, he said that failure to do so would show that that meant they had suspicious reasons for their actions.
He said that contractors who fail to return to site would have to return the mobilisaiton fees supposedly collected for the work.
