Kano Loses Another Prominent Traditional Leader

The spate of death in Kano continued on Sunday after the Jarman Kano, Prof. Isa Hashim who is a senior counselor in the Kano Emirate Council succumbed to the cold hands of death.

A family source, Ibrahim Aliyu told newsmen that the Jarman’s health condition deteriorated following the death of some of his close childhood friends with whom he grew up with in Kano.

The 86 year old former university lecturer was appointed the Jarman Kano by the penultimate emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero. He replaced the former Jarman Kano, Alhaji Adamu Dankabo, founder of Kabo Air.

The death of the senior Emirate Council member adds to the spate of death in Kano which the Kano State Government at one time affirmed was unrelated to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prominent men in the state from the professions have succumbed to death in the last two weeks with 12 dying in the spate of two days as reported by GreenWhiteGreen.

The emir of Rano, Dr. Abubakar Tafida Ila passed away on Saturday, hours before the latest high profile death.
