Raimi Saka, aged 44, has been remanded in a correctional center for allegedly shooting and killing a She-goat belonging to Mr. Babatunde Azeez in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He was arraigned before Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan by the police on Monday.

According to the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Toyin Ibrahim, the incident occurred on June 1, around 9 p.m. in the Ayegun, Oleyo area of Ibadan. Saka, armed with dangerous weapons, allegedly killed the She-goat, the property of Mr. Babatunde Azeez, contravening Section 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004.

The defendant, whose address was not provided, faces charges of possession of dangerous weapons.

However, Magistrate Mrs. Kausarat Ayofe didn’t take Saka’s plea due to jurisdictional constraints.

She instructed the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice and adjourned the case until August 8 for mention.
