Transfer: Only One Issue Left As Osimhen Exits Napoli For PSG
By Benjamin Abioye
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) but the only issue remaining is the discount requested by PSG on the €130m release clause set by Napoli.
This was disclosed by Italian football expert Fabrizio Romano on his X handle on Wednesday. Romano also mentioned that Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte, has accepted the Nigerian striker’s departure, with the timing of the move being the only uncertainty.
Romano stated, “It was already a clear pact about Osimhen’s exit. The timing is exactly as we expected, there will be no issues. Osimhen has agreed on joining PSG and PSG want Osimhen, but club to club agreement is still not done.”
Despite offers from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, Osimhen favors a move to France, although his preference initially leaned towards the English Premier League. Negotiations between PSG and Napoli are ongoing, with PSG seeking a discount on Osimhen’s €130 million release clause.
Napoli has indicated that the deal is nearing completion, with Osimhen likely to depart Naples soon, having been excluded from their recent friendly due to a minor muscle strain.
GWG.ng reports that the move by Osimhen to PSG is coming in the trail of his troubled relationship with the Nigerian Football Federation and indeed with many Nigerians over his outbursts against former Nigeria manager, George Finidi.
