Hardship: Man Teaches How To Make Soup Without Fire (Video)
Amid the prevailing hunger and hardship in the nation, where many Nigerians have resorted to exploring less expensive foods in order to survive, a Nigerian man has taken to his social media account to share a soup (Efere) recipe that was made without fire.
According to the man identified as @Tarahenzz on X, Efere Soup, identified as an Akwa Ibom delicacy, has been in existence for ages, but has become necessary to revive due to the soaring cost of food and other commodities in the country.
He said the soup reminded him of his childhood days, recalling that whenever he came back from the school or farm and there was no food, Efere was the quickest meal to prepare.
The man further revealed that he learnt the recipe from his mother and grandmother.
Highlighting the ingredients required to prepare the meal, he mentioned:
1.Pepper
2. Onions
3. Crayfish
4. Salt
5. Water
Cooking process
Step One:
Assembling the pepper, crayfish and onions in a mortar and pound with a pestle
Step two
Add salt and water.
Step three
Stir and…. Efere soup is ready
The man recommended that Efere soup can be eaten with either garri or fufu. As captured in the video, Henshaw and other young men could be seen enjoying the soup with fufu.
