Controversial Activist Flags-Off Protest In ‘Wike’s’ Abuja, Unfolds Anti-Govt Banners (Video)
By Benjamin Abioye
Controversial social critic, VeryDarkMan, has garnered significant attention with his personal protest leading up to the planned nationwide protest on August 1.
VeryDarkMan, shirtless, and another man in blue, were seen standing on a black jeep on the streets of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, holding banners in early flagoff of the protest.
VeryDarkMan’s banner read: “Emi lo kon… It is your turn to suffer, Mr. President. Do we even have future with you???” The other man’s banner stated: “Tinubu, We Have Learnt The Hard Way. Pity Us, Sir… We Are Suffering.”
The protest sparked various reactions. Some applauded the peaceful nature of the protest and hoped the August 1 protest would be similarly calm. Others doubted its impact, believing it wouldn’t compel the government to act.
Many criticized the move, while others voiced their opinions on the early protest by VeryDarkman:
@Daffydre2: “That’s what I want to hear. Make it personal. No violence.”
@nuggetman1_: “Does this mean he is truly an activist?”
@badinflu3nc3_: “VDM FOR PRESIDENT”
@WissyOnline: “Together we stand.”
@Shile_matrix: “As much as I wish this protest will bring a lasting solution to our demands, the truth is it won’t change anything. We need either a regional system of government or to divide.”
@Pweshiouz13: “Okay, he should also be available on the 1st.”
@dat_israeli: “This one is an APC guy. Don’t fall for it. You can see from the writings.”
@davidvictor_90: “This one wants to be a leader by force.”
@zamar_Hali: “LOL. Tell him to run. The DSS is coming for him. Tinubu is not Jonathan.”
