Protesters turn out for the second day of the campaign against bad governance in Nigeria

Protesters have filed in some of the country’s leading towns on the second day of the scheduled 10 day protest against bad governance in Nigeria.

GWG.ng reports that in Abuja, Port-Harcourt and Lagos that protesters came out in their numbers to protest for the second day after what was generally believed to be a successful day for the protesters on the first day of the campaign against bad governance.

In Abuja, protesters who gathered at the popular Berger Bus-Stop were dispersed by policemen who shot tear gas canisters to disperse them.

GWG.ng reports that the effect of the tear gas got several of the protesters and accompanying journalists choking forcing many of them to disperse as they choked. The situation in Abuja remains hazy as many office workers and businesses kept away from their offices on the second day of the protest against bad governance in Nigeria.

In Port-Harcourt, the situation was, however, more peaceful as many protesters came out as the day wore on with some of the protesters asking that President Bola Tinubu should come out to address the citizenry on the agitations against his government and its policies.

In Lagos too, a stand off was brewing between the protesters and the police following the insistence of the Commissioner of Police that they should not leave the Ojota Park for the Alausa office of the governor.
