CP Offers Snacks To Lagos Protesters
The commissioner of police in Lagos, CP Adegoke Fayoade is presently in a standoff with protesters at Ojota Park offering them water and gala among other snacks to dissuade them from proceeding on a march to the Alausa seat of government.
The stand-off is following the plea by the commissioner to the protesters not to march to Alausa as they had earlier indicated.
GWG.ng reports that some hoodlums have also intermittently blocked the free movement of traffic along Ikorodu Road which adjoins Ojota Park where the protesters are gathered.
The plea to march on to Alausa according to the protesters is both to deliver a message to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and also for them to escape hoodlums who the protesters allege are infiltrating the park.
However, CP Fayoade has been insistent that the protesters should not leave Ojota Park saying that leaving the park could cause a security breach and also violate a court order that restrains the protesters from moving outside.
GWG.ng reports that the Lagos police commissioner has promised the protesters that he would remain with them to ensure that the hoodlums do not attack them and also promised to provide snacks including water and gala for them within Ojota Park.
Fayoade who claimed to have served in several locations across Nigeria commended the behaviour of the Lagos protesters saying he has not seen such in his other postings, conduct that may have prompted him to offer the snacks.
