Edo: INEC Announces When Collation of Election Results Will Commence
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the collation of results from Saturday’s Edo State governorship election will officially begin at 10 a.m. today, Sunday, September 22, 2024.
This update was disclosed in a statement issued early Sunday by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Edo State, Dr. Anugbum Omuoha. According to Omuoha, the collation process will be conducted with the highest level of transparency, adhering strictly to the commission’s established regulations.
“This is to inform the general public, stakeholders, and observers that the collation of results for the ongoing Edo State governorship election will resume today, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10 a.m.,” the statement read.
Dr. Omuoha also reaffirmed INEC’s dedication to ensuring that the collation process proceeds smoothly, in line with all laid-down guidelines. He expressed gratitude for the patience and cooperation of all parties involved.
“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the parties as we strive to ensure a credible and accurate outcome of this important election,” the REC added.
