Renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has firmly denied any involvement with popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky in the prison bribery saga around her or him.

The bribery allegations surfaced in a viral video by blogger Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who claimed that some unnamed officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) collected ₦15 million from Bobrisky to drop money laundering charges with Femi Falana being mentioned.

VeryDarkMan further accused Falana of seeking a ₦10 million presidential pardon for Bobrisky.

However, in an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television on Thursday, Falana refuted these claims, stating that he has never met or spoken to Bobrisky.

“Bobrisky never spoke to me. I have never met him, and I do not know him from Adam. It was alleged that he spoke to my son, Folarin (Falz),” Falana said.

The senior lawyer went on to explain that Bobrisky had allegedly contacted his son, Falz, earlier this year, seeking assistance to be placed in a VIP section of the prison.

“My son said Bobrisky was appealing for assistance and called him on May 4 this year, asking for ₦3 million to be placed in a special part of the prison, the VIP section,” Falana narrated.

“Falz asked him, ‘Are you calling me under the authorization of the superintendent of prisons?’ When Bobrisky said no, my son told him, ‘Please don’t call me again. I cannot assist you to bribe the prison authorities. Be very careful, as you’re already in prison for an offence.’”

Falana concluded by stating that after that conversation, the matter was dropped, but later, tapes began circulating, leading to defamatory claims that Bobrisky had spoken to him directly.

Femi Falana emphasized that the Bribery allegations around him and Bobrisky were false and intended to tarnish his reputation.
