Here are six ways to handle fear of job security at a place of work.

Acknowledge your feelings

 It’s important to acknowledge these feelings of job insecurity as they arise. Doing so is the first step towards addressing and overcoming job insecurity.

Practice mindfulness

By practicing mindfulness, you’re not only improving your performance at work but also controlling the anxiety that comes with job insecurity.

Seek feedback actively

 Regularly ask your superiors and colleagues for feedback on your work. This can provide you with a clearer understanding of your strengths and areas for improvement.

Accept uncertainty

There are so many factors outside our control, and it’s only natural that this uncertainty can cause anxiety. However, accepting this fact can indeed have its own sense of relief and in the security of the job you are doing.

Remind yourself of your achievements and capabilities. You’ve faced challenges before, and you’ve come through them and that should give you the air of the security of the job you are doing.

Stop comparing yourself to others

 Your colleague’s promotion, your friend’s fancy job title, or your cousin’s thriving business  these are their journeys, not yours.
