A man identified as @Ayibatonye01 has taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his frustration after being banned from officiating in church services due to his refusal to contribute money for his pastor’s birthday.

In his post, Ayibatonye explained that the church leadership had requested members to send money for their pastor’s birthday celebration. However, he opted not to participate, believing the contribution was voluntary, as stated by the church.

To his surprise, he was subsequently informed that he would not be allowed to officiate in the upcoming Sunday service and that further penalties might follow.

Sharing his dismay on social media, Ayibatonye wrote, “Because I didn’t send money for papa’s birthday, I am banned from officiating this Sunday, and more punishment might be meted out. After you said it’s a voluntary contribution. You aren’t even minding the financial capacity of some. Others have sent, but me, I will not send.”
