New Problems For Osimhen In Galatasaray As Napoli Raises The Stakes

Osimhen goal

Napoli’s Sporting Director, Giovanni Manna, has dismissed the possibility of Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Galatasaray, citing the Turkish club’s inability to meet the substantial fee required.

According to a report by Soccernet.ng, Napoli has set the asking price at €75 million —an amount far beyond what Galatasaray can afford at present to secure Osimhen permanent move.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window, has proven to be a remarkable asset. The Nigerian striker, 25, has scored eight goals and provided four assists in just nine appearances, quickly establishing himself as a key player for the Turkish Super Lig champions.

Impressed by his outstanding performances, Galatasaray have expressed interest in making Osimhen’s move permanent, with rivals Fenerbahce also reportedly preparing a bid. Both clubs were reportedly considering offers of €50 million, but this falls significantly short of the €75 million that Napoli paid for him four years ago, making the bids unlikely to sway the Italian club.

In a recent statement, Napoli’s Sporting Director, Giovanni Manna, confirmed that the club have ended negotiations with Galatasaray. “Our door is closed to negotiations. Galatasaray does not have the budget to pay this amount at this moment. The fee is €75 million, and there are many teams ready to pay it,” Manna stated.

Given the steep price tag, meeting Napoli’s demands could place any Turkish club at financial risk. Additionally, Osimhen has expressed an ambition to move to the English Premier League, suggesting that a future transfer to the EPL could be in the cards if a suitable offer materializes.
