Plateau: Mutfwang Orders Immediate Payment Of New Minimum Wage
Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has approved the immediate implementation of the new National Minimum Wage following the agreement on the consequential adjustment on salaries.
The news of the immediate implementation was conveyed by the Head of Service, Stephen Pam Gadong in a statement made available to GWG.ng.
GWG.ng reports that in the statement Gandong further implored the civil servants to reciprocate the gesture from the Mutfwang administration by putting more dedication to their duties.
He said:
“Following the Agreement of the Committee on Consequential Adjustment on Salaries on 13th, November, 2024, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has approved the immediate implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage for workers in the state.
“The Implementation is a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to prioritizing the wellbeing of the workforce in acknowledgement of their invaluable role in driving the State’s developmental goals.
“As the new wage policy is administered, Civil Servants are encouraged to embrace this gesture by recommitting to their duties with renewed dedication and zeal in order to foster a culture of productivity and excellence in service in the State.”
GWG.ng reports that the implementation of the new minimum wage in Plateau State will be seen as another positive stride by the Mutfwang administration in lifting the welfare of the citizenry in the state.
