Tinubu Sacks Top Government Official, Appoints Replacement
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has relieved Nura Sani Kangiwa of his duties as the Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR).
Kangiwa, who assumed office at NIHOTOUR in September 2020 under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has been replaced by Dr. Abisoye Fagade.
While no official explanation has been provided for Kangiwa’s dismissal, it is speculated that his tenure had expired or that the decision aligns with Tinubu’s broader strategy to inject fresh leadership across key federal agencies.
In a statement confirming the appointment, President Tinubu tasked Dr. Fagade with steering NIHOTOUR towards achieving excellence and promoting national growth through innovative leadership.
Dr. Abisoye Fagade, a seasoned marketing communication expert, is the founder and managing director of Sodium Brand Solutions, a prominent advertising and brand management company in Nigeria.
GWG.ng reports that alongside Fagade, the presidency has also appointed Olawale Olopade, Director-General, National Sports Commission; Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement; and Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications (State House).
The announcement of the new appointments was made in a statement issued by presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga as part of efforts by the administration in pushing forward its renewed hope agenda.
