Edo PDP visit

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Edo State is again beginning to find its voice and receive visits after the serial assaults on the party’s legacies in the state by the new All Progressives Congress, APC administration.

Members of the G-WIN support group, led by Mr. Godwin Ovu have paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s Secretariat on Airport Road, Benin City, Edo State.

During the visit, the group’s coordinator Mr Godwin Ovu, congratulated the Chairman and his new team on their appointments. He highlighted the significant contributions the Chairman has made to the PDP, particularly noting that under his leadership, the party entered government for the first time in 2020 after being in opposition for over 12 years.

Additionally, he praised Dr. Tony Aziegbemi’s leadership for securing a majority in the State House of Assembly for the first time in 16 years. The coordinator expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s service, dedication and resilience.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed the group’s continued support and solidarity with the PDP, especially in light of the recent attacks on the State Secretariat. He blamed those he described as APC thugs for the attack.

He expressed his confidence that the tribunal will do the right thing by returning what he described as a stolen mandate ̈date freely given by Edo people during the governorship elections of September 21, 2024.  “its only a matter of time before you bag your hat trick of election successes” Ovu concluded.

The chairman of the PDP in Edo State, Dr Aziegbemi appreciated and thanked them for the visit. He acknowledged their enthusiasm and commitment to the party.

He reassured them that “our mandate will be retrieved.”
