Tinubu production and consumption

President Bola Tinubu was trending on Friday on X, formerly Twitter after he was found to have used a phrase made popular by his political rival, Peter Obi on moving Nigeria from consumption to production.

GWG.ng reports that President Tinubu was quoted as pushing the country away from consumption to production when he presented a speech at the 10th National Labour Summit and Award.

The programme with the theme: The Future of Work and Renewed Hope Reform Agenda: Issues and Perspective was organised by Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS).

Represented by the minister of state for labour, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Tinubu said:

“We are a consuming economy. Everybody has to join the production hub to see that in the near future everybody will be satisfied and food will be on the table of every Nigerian.”

The president’s speech has, however, been latched up by some of his political critics who insinuated that he copied the phrase of moving the country from consumption to production as popularised by Peter Obi.

It was no surprise that Tinubu was trending over the quote with many of his critics coming under the assertion to nibble at him as riding on the crest of the phrase of consumption and production as canvassed by Peter Obi.

GWG.ng gathered some of the comments following the assertion.
