Pastor Bolaji Idowu arrest

Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has addressed recent rumors about his alleged arrest and detention by the Nigerian Police. These reports claimed that he was detained in connection with real estate fraud and money laundering.

In a video message shared with his congregation on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Pastor Idowu clarified that he was not arrested but rather invited by the police to assist in an ongoing investigation. He explained that the investigation involved a church member who had been accused of financial misconduct, but he chose not to name the individual involved.

Pastor Idowu expressed his gratitude to his congregation for their continued support during the situation. He assured them that the investigation was still ongoing and emphasized his commitment to fully cooperating with law enforcement while maintaining the privacy of those involved.

In his message, Pastor Idowu stated, “This is from me to you: I was invited and not arrested. I was invited by the Police to help in an investigation about a church member that got into some trouble.” He further added, “I would love to say so much to you, but remember that the case is under investigation, and also a person is involved. They all have wives, they all have children, they all have relatives. If you start mentioning names right now, which is what most of you expect me to do, you will also be ruining someone’s life.”

He concluded by saying, “I will let the Police do their thing while my assistance is over, and I can step aside. Thank you for trusting and supporting me even when you didn’t know the facts of the matter.”
