Manchester United leak squad City

Manchester United have launched a probe into the source of the leak of their matchday squad ahead of their clash with Manchester City on Sunday, December 15.

The leak, which surfaced shortly before United’s impressive 2-1 victory over City, suggested that Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho would be left out of the squad. The unofficial team sheet was revealed moments before manager Ruben Amorim announced his official lineup.

According to ‘The Sun’, Amorim has since reached out to both Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo to discuss the matter and gain further clarity. However, sources within the club have dismissed claims that Garnacho’s exclusion from the match was related to any accusations involving his brother’s potential role in leaking the information.

Speaking after the game at The Etihad, Amorim acknowledged the situation but emphasized the difficulty of preventing such leaks. He said, “I’m aware of the situation. Unfortunately, it’s challenging to control because there are many individuals within the club, and players often communicate with their agents and friends. It’s not ideal, but we need to focus on moving forward and preparing for the next match to finalize our starting XI.”

Manchester United continue to probe the leak as they work to ensure such breaches do not disrupt future preparations.
