Ex-Jonathan Aide Draws Fire Praising Tinubu’s Achievements

Reno Omokri moves from defending the legacies of Goodluck Jonathan, and the potentials of Atiku Abubakar to flaunting the achievements of Bola Tinubu

Former Presidential aide and social media influencer, Reno Omokri, has found himself at the center of an online controversy following a post on his X platform (formerly Twitter) on the achievements of the Bola Tinubu administration.

In the post, Reno Omokri commended several achievements he attributed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, describing them as positive signs of progress for Nigeria. However, his remarks have drawn mixed reactions, with many criticizing his claims while others voiced their support.

In his post, Reno Omokri listed several achievements he credited to the Tinubu government:

“This is the first Yuletide season in the history of Nigeria where the following things are co-occurring:
Fuel price has reduced, and there are no fuel queues or petrol scarcity. For the first time, Nigeria is exporting refined petroleum products to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Food is costly but very much available. The Federal Government-owned interstate public transport has been made free of charge for the duration of the holidays.

The new Minimum Wage is being paid to federal workers. And there have been no incidents of terrorism or insecurity outside the theatres of operation, which in itself is reducing in territory, even as both Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa, who have been behind much of the instability in the Southeast of Nigeria, are behind bars.

We may not be where we want to be as a nation, but things are gradually getting better in Nigeria in many ways.

Reno Omokri’s optimism on the achievements of the Tinubu government sparked a heated debate, with some commenters supporting his perspective, while others strongly disagreed, accusing him of being out of touch with the realities faced by many Nigerians.
