Senator Ned Nwoko (PDP-Delta) says Christmas is a time to show true love and put others first.

Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, communicated this in his Christmas message made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.

According to him, Christmas is a celebration of love and the love of Christ for humanity.

“Christ life was marked by compassion, selflessness, sacrifice and values that should inspire our daily actions, especially for those in leadership.

“True love is about putting others first and working for the greater good; a principle that should guide governance at all levels.”

He said that when leaders embraced the love exemplified by Christ, they led selflessly, prioritising the needs of the people above personal interests.

“They ensure that access to basic amenities like clean water, electricity, quality healthcare and social welfare are not luxuries but rights enjoyed by all.’’

The lawmaker added that such governance uplifted the society and creates an environment where people thrive and true progress was made.

“As we celebrate the birth of Christ, let us renew our commitment to fostering love in our homes, communities and country.

“Love drives us to act with integrity, empathy and dedication to building a better society for everyone.

“To my constituents, Nigerians and Christians around the world, I wish you a joyous Christmas filled with love, peace and hope.

“May the values of this season inspire us to work together for a future where every Nigerian enjoys the dignity and quality of life they deserve.

“Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year,” Nwoko said.
