Atiku on Death of Former Aide

Former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his deep sorrow over the death of his former aide and political associate, Shima Ayati.

Ayati’s passing was announced in a statement released by the Atiku Media Office on Monday.

Atiku, who served as Vice President from 1999 to 2007, said he was both shocked and saddened by the news of Ayati’s death. He prayed for the peaceful rest of Ayati’s soul, describing the loss as a great one.

Atiku also took time to honor Ayati’s unwavering loyalty and dedication throughout their years of working together. He remarked, “Though Ayati served as an aide while I was in office as Vice President, he never hesitated to make himself available whenever the need arose, and his loyalty was never in doubt.”

In his message of condolences, Atiku extended his sympathy to Ayati’s family, friends, and the people of Benue State. He encouraged them to accept Ayati’s death as part of God’s will. Atiku also prayed for strength and comfort for the Ayati family, particularly for his loved ones who are grieving the loss of a father, husband, and political ally.
