Nigerian Woman Accused Of Cheating Allegedly Stabs Husband To Death
Tragedy struck in the Gbonogun area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, as a 22-year-old woman, Iyanu Adedeji, allegedly stabbed her husband, Funsho Jimoh, to death following a domestic dispute over alleged infidelity.
According to security sources, the couple, who shared two children, got into a heated argument after Funsho reportedly accused Iyanu of infidelity. The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation, during which Iyanu allegedly stabbed Funsho in the chest with a kitchen knife.
A source revealed that, after the stabbing, Iyanu rushed her injured husband to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.
Confirming the incident, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, disclosed that Iyanu has been arrested, and a knife believed to be the murder weapon was recovered from the scene.
“The suspect is currently in custody. Detectives visited the scene of the incident and recovered the knife. A preliminary investigation is underway, and the case will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a comprehensive investigation,” Odutola said.
