Mother last call with daughter Ajayi

Ojomachenwu Adaidu, the mother of Salome Adaidu, has shared heartbreaking details about her final interaction with her daughter before she tragically lost her life.

Salome, a 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member working with Nicon Insurance in Abuja, was allegedly murdered by Oluwatimileyin Ajayi.

According to reports, Salome had visited Ajayi at his residence in Papalana, New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, shortly before her death. Ajayi was reportedly caught attempting to dispose of her body on Sunday.

In an interview, her mother, Ojomachenwu described her last conversation with Salome. “I called her on Saturday and asked where she was. She told me she was washing clothes. When I asked if she was alone, she said yes, adding that her elder sibling was in the living room cleaning. She also mentioned her plans to go to her NYSC training location once she finished.”

The grieving mother shared her suspicion about the events leading to her daughter’s death. “Maybe on her way to the place, she got into a ‘one-chance’ vehicle or someone used voodoo on her. She doesn’t have close friends like that. I want justice for my child,” she pleaded.

The police in Nasarawa State have promised a thorough investigation. The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, assured the public that justice would prevail. “The investigation is ongoing, and once completed, the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution. The family and public can rest assured that the law will take its course,” Nansel stated.

Salome’s tragic death has left her family and her mother particularly devastated and calling for justice to ensure her killer is held accountable.
