Suspense As Commissioner Quits Obaseki’s Cabinet

One month after her colleague and former government spokesman, Paul Ohonbamu resigned as commissioner for information, the Edo State Commissioner for environment and public utilities, Dame Omoua Oni-Okpaku has resigned her appointment with the state government.
The resignation was confirmed by sources close to her though the official letter of resignation has not been officially disclosed.
However, a top government official who confirmed the development, however, said that her loyalty to the Godwin Obaseki government had been in doubt for some time.
The resignation follows high level resignations from the Obaseki government including the Chief of Staff to Governor Godwin Obaseki, Taiwo Akerele who left in April and a number of Special Assistants to the governor.
The resignation comes in the wake of claims by the All Progressives Congress, APC campaign in the state that many people in government were bidding their time on when to leave the administration following the crisis between the governor and his predecessor, Comrade Oshiomhole
