Supporters Laud Buhari On 60th Anniversary Theme
Supporters of President Muhmmadu Buhari have commended the choice of the theme for Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary, ‘’Together We Shall’’, saying it shows that the administration is more than ever focused on building a country where all citizens will have a sense of belonging.
According to the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO), it is instructive that President Muhammadu Buhari used the occasion to rally Nigerians together towards the cause of nation-building.
In a statement signed by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke, the group noted “with joy that under President Muhammadu Buhari Nigeria has witnessed accelerated development in several areas, mainly infrastructure, diversification of the economy, improved security and a significant drop in corrupt practices in the country.
“We believe that as the President noted in his speech at the unveiling ceremony, that based on the challenges the country had faced in the past sixty years and the progress made within the period, there is the need for Nigeria to roll out the drums in celebration.
“Additionally, the President’s commitment towards using the 60th independence anniversary to strengthen the country’s unity is commendable as the administration gears towards promoting inclusiveness and involvement of all Nigerians in the country’s affairs”.
The group said it is worthy of note that the theme of the celebration aligns with the logo which is meant to enhance the country’s unity and help the country forge ahead.
“We, therefore, enjoin all Nigerians to appreciate the efforts of the Buhari administration in rebuilding the country by keying into the celebration of Nigeria’s 60th Independence anniversary. This show of appreciation will demonstrate patriotism on the part of the citizenry and reciprocity of the Federal Government’s efforts at repositioning the country for the better”.
The group also applauded the President’s position that Nigeria ‘’is the most prosperous black nation and Africa’s largest economy’’, based on the abundant human and material resources in the country and this ought to be celebrated.
