Ohanaeze Youths Want S/East Govs To Implement Anti-grazing Laws

The Youth wing of the Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has asked South East Governors  to follow the path of Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom in the implementation of anti grazing bill in order to curtail the heinous activities of herdsmen in the region.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth noted that the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the region should be checkmated through serious security measure in order to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the South East.

The group, in a statement, commended the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for 

his prompt action towards addressing the insecurity issues and incessant attacks by hoodlums suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, in the wake of the murder of the Enugu Catholic Priest Paul Offu.

Part of the statement reads: “The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide led by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, commends the Enugu State Governor,RT Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi over the prompt action towards addressing the insecurity issues and incessant attacks by hoodlums suspected to be the murderous Fulani Herdsmen,who after the murder of the Enugu Catholic Priest Paul Offu, had kidnapped a Traditional Ruler of obom, Agbogugu Community in the Agwu local Government of Enugu State ,Igwe Sunday Orji was abducted alongside with his wife on August 1st at Ogbaku Community near Agwu Junction on the Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway , this is the confirmation that the murderous Fulani Herdsmen are out to destabilise the peaceful atmosphere of South East.

“From intelligent reports, Agwu Junction Enugu state,along Enugu – pH expressway is the  safe haven and den of Killer herdsmen and Fulani mercenaries/ bandits carrying out their jihad against Igbos, and it appears that Miyetti Allah Cattle breeders association of Nigeria is enjoying the festival of deaths being committed on the soil of Ndigbo after Ruga and Fulani vigilante was rejected, We appeal to Motorists to beware of this spot as it appears that Southeast Governors are not in a haste to tackle this dangerous trends being perpetuate in the Broad Day light, as we are aware that Most South East Governors compensate Miyetti Allah Cattle breeders association of Nigeria South East zone with N500,000 over any cow killed in any dispute between herders/ Farmers, while the farmers are compensated with little stipends of N6000, and the new trend of uniformed Ransome demand of N50 million in victims abducted by Suspected Armed herdsmen, which is now a huge business for the New terrorism trending in the South East.

“We are equally aware that the murderous Herdsmen are now spreading towards Uburu and Okposi forests in Ohazara LGA of Ebonyi, they’ve been sited in Uturu in isuikwuato LGA Abia and Okigwe in Imo state and Isuochi/Umunze Road in Anambra, We are watching keenly as they are gradually spreading in platoons across South East, We wish to appeal to South East Governors that it’s only dreadful Bakassi Boys and Biafra agitators and ogbunigwe militia should be restructured into forest guards to deal ruthlessly against the killer herdsmen, there’s sabotage among security agents who are helpless and insincere to engage the herdsmen operating in our forests… Governors should borrow a leaf from Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom and implement anti grazing bill,as those Fulani herdsmen have moved down to South East from Middlebelt.”
