The epic battle on the direction of the anti-corruption war in Kano State was at play on Monday after the Kano State House of Assembly suspended the Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complain and Anti Corruption Commission for a period of one month.

The House cited a petition against the embattled Chairman received from the Office of the Accountant General of the State over his  refusal to accept staff posted to the Commission by the Accountant General.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the anti corruption czar in show of supremacy had rejected and officially questioned the legality of the Accountant General to post staff to him.

The refusal it was reported was upon claims that the anti-corruption czar was probing contracts reportedly awarded to family associates of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The action of the Accountant General in posting an accountant away from the office of the anti-corruption commission it was reported was meant to stifle the ongoing probe against the governor’s associates.

The suspension came after the issue was deliberated on the floor of the House with a resolution to suspend him for one month to allow an investigation into the power tussle.

Upon the resolution the House appointed the House Committee Chairman on Public Complaints,  Hon Umar Musa Gama to head the Committee .

Other members of the Committee include Hon Lawan Shehu, Chairman House Committee on Judiciary, Chairman House Committee on Public Account, Hon Salisu Ibrahim Doguwa, House Committee Chairman on Finance, Hon Magaji Dahiru Zarewa. Hon Sale Ahmad Marke, Chairman House Committee’s on Hajj.

The Committee has Deputy Director Legal as Secretary and Secretary Public Account Committee as Co-secretary

The Committee is to submit its report in two weeks.
