The crisis in the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC was on Thursday heading for the worse after it emerged that the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee had summoned the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed who is engaged in a power tussle with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is being expected to personally appear before the national leadership of the party over his recent actions.

The summons according to the Punch was served on the minister for his alleged activities in anti-party activities, especially the opening of a parallel state secretariat.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported that Alhaji Lai Mohammed last Saturday opened a parallel state secretariat during which he alleged that Kwara elected a one chance government.

“The minister left us no choice. His action was clearly a violation of our constitution,” a source told The Punch.

The Secretary of the CECPC, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, did not confirm or deny the summons when the newspaper contacted him on the summons.

“I cannot confirm or deny what you are asking me because as you know, the Honourable Minister is an elder in this party and we shall accord him the respect he deserves.

“The party will not allow anything to put him to disrepute.

“The party, on the other hand, will not allow anybody to violate the constitution of the party.“

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Alhaji Lai Mohammed spearheaded the revolution that removed the Bukola Saraki hegemony in Kwara but has since then fallen out with the governor.
