Accord Will Win Anambra If — Igwedibia
Chief Bartho Igwedibia, Chairman of Accord in Anambra State has expressed hope that the party would enthrone the next governor of the state if the election is allowed to run independent of the manipulation of those who had sabotaged the state in the past.
Igwedibia in an interview said that he foresaw a situation whereby the November 6 election would be flawless and the vote of the masses count during the election.
“There is every sign that those banking on fraudulent practices in the next governorship election in Anambra would be disappointed because the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies might not be willing to do their bidding”, he said.
Igwedibia who said that his party would spring a surprise in the November election noted that the chances of Dr Godwin Maduka becoming the next governor of the state is higher than other candidates.
“Anambra masses are interested in voting Dr Maduka because his giant achievements in his country home Umuchukwu in Orumba area is an eloquent testament of what he is coming to do
“Our governorship candidate is academically sound with three doctorate degrees and well established as key player in the field of medical sciences in the United States of America.
“The people at the grassroots want him and he will likely enjoy massive support in the next governorship election in the state”, he said.
Igwedibia said that the party would commence it’s campaign to 326 wards of Anambra by next week, noting that the party has a lot of packages for youths, women and the elderly.
He said that the party has experienced politicians who understand both the environment and political pschyce of the people.
The state chairman of Accord, however, appealed to the people of the state to support Maduka whom he described as ‘God sent’ for Anambra to move to the next level of development.
“If Accord produces the next governor, Anambra will be a reference point in medical tourism, food production, empowerment generation for women and youths as well as security because these are key in our agenda”, he said.
