NNPC Opens Up Recruitment
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has disowned information in some social media platforms of an ongoing recruitment exercise by the corporation as false.
The Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Garba Deen Muhammad, made the assertion in a statement made available to GreenWhiteGreen GWG on Sunday. He further affirmed that the NNPC would at anytime it decides to make a recruitment inform the general public of such an exercise.
“This is to inform the public that the information circulating in the Social Media that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is conducting a recruitment exercise IS NOT TRUE and the public should disregard it in its entirety,” Garba Deen Muhammad said in the statement.
“Whenever NNPC decides to conduct a recruitment exercise, it will announce this to the public through authentic public communication channels including the NNPC’s website (www.nnpcgroup.com). Once again the NNPC is NOT RECRUITING.”
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the speculation about alleged recruitment in the NNPC came as news emerged on the incorporation of the new NNPC as envisaged under the PIA.
The Corporate Affairs Commission it was reported had completed the Incorporation of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited in accordance with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), 2021.
The PIA was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on Aug. 16.
Specifically, Section 53(1) of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021, requires the Minister of Petroleum Resources to cause for the incorporation of the NNPC Limited within six months of the enactment of the PIA in consultation with the Minister of Finance on the nominal shares of the Company.
The Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Alhaji Garba Abubakar confirmed the incorporation in Abuja while speaking at the Quarterly meeting of Heads of Agencies in the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment.
He further stated that the registration was completed same day after fulfilling all requirements set for the incorporation of the NNPC LIMITED.
