Ramsdale Heroics Not Enough As Liverpool Thrash Arsenal 4-0
An impressive showing from Aaron Ramsdale wasn’t enough to save Arsenal from a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday evening.
The match was marred by a sideline bust-up managers Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta over a disagreement regarding a Mane foul on Tomiyasu, which saw both managers booked by referee Michael Oliver in the 31st minute.
Coming off the back of a 3-2 defeat to West Ham, prior to the international break, Liverpool controlled possession, but it was Arsenal who came close to opening the scoring, with Saka heading wide from a Tomiyasu cross in the 17th minute.

Arsenal thought they had scored in the 31st minute, but Lacazette’s effort was ruled out for Offside. The gunners had Ramsdale to thank as the England International pulled off another great save to deny Salah in the 35th minute. Justifying the recent hype around him, he made another fantastic save to deny Alexander Arnold two minutes later.

Arsenal were no way out as Partey drew a tipping save from Alisson in the 7th minute. Looking to sustain the momentum, Klopp looked to his bench to freshen his team, bringing on Takumi Minamino and captain Jordan Henderson a minute later. Minamino had only been on less than a minute when he tapped in an Alexander Arnold cross to put Liverpool 4-0 up.
Mane was involved in the fourth goal, getting behind the Arsenal defence to pick out Alexander Arnold who assisted the fourth goal. The Senegalese forward continued his trend of impressive performances against the Gunners.
The scoreline remained unchanged as Liverpool eased to a 4-0 win in a dominant performance against Arsenal, where the gunners had in-form goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to thank, as the 23-year old spared their blushes on what could have been an embarrassing night.
The victory sees the Reds recover from the minor blip where Klopp’s side had not won in their last two league matches. Liverpool climb up to second with 25 points, four behind leaders Chelsea. With Man City in third with 23 points with a game in hand.
